Yin/Vinyasa
led by Melissa Stanza
Wednesdays 11:15am-12:30pm
Mind Body Online
(under Classes)
Quick, secure and easy

Ê

Create an oasis of peace and calm with a combination of yin yoga, a slow paced vinyasa, meditation and a long, deep relaxation. By slowing the body and mind students will begin to identify areas of tightness and stress. The goal of the class is to open the tight places so energy will be able to move through the body more freely thereby instilling a feeling of stillness, peace and calm. As the body slides into peace the mind will more easily abide in the present moment giving students a respite from the demands of living in a fast-pacedÊworld.

While this practice is slower paced and assessable to most ability levels students should have a basic knowledge of the poses and alignment principles.

About Melissa Stanza:has been inspired to practice and learn about yoga ever since her first class ten years ago in the basement of the Kirkwood YMCA. She received her yoga certification in 2007 from Yoga Source. Melissa has had the opportunity to study a variety of styles of yoga with many master teachers throughout the country: Sarah Powers, Desiree Rumbaugh, Mitchel Bleier, Tias Little, Sianna Sherman, Martin Kirk and Erich Schiffmann. Melissa also offers gratitude to her long time teachers at Yoga Source who have skillfully and patiently helped her along her yoga path; Chris Yonker, Jan Herzog and Sat Inder.

While Melissa enjoys almost every style of yoga she is currently interested in studying yoga and meditation with Erich Schiffmann. His teaching about listening to inner wisdom and using that wisdom to move through asana practice have profoundly affected her teaching and practice. She wants to inspire others to find their own peace and joy through yoga.
